Cupcakes, cupcakes and more cupcakes. They are the culinary rage now aren’t they? Just about everywhere you go, you see them. They aren’t just for kids parties anymore, adults crave them just as much. The great thing about cupcakes, is that you can adorn them in your own special way, thus personalizing it to one’s own unique creation and theme. Cupcakes are perfect for all seasons and occasions, I’ve even seen them at wedding receptions and formal functions. I guess they are pretty versatile and can be eaten straight from the cupcake liner without the need for silverware. It is much easier to transport to a picnic, birthday celebration or bridal/baby showers too. Now that we’re all sold on adult cupcakes, let’s take a peek at these cupcakes shall we? It is topped with a fudgy buttercream layer, the chocolate cake just melts in your mouth. Do take my word for it, say hello to the ultimate, devilishly decadent chocolate cupcake! My camera did get a workout, so I hope you will enjoy these images.
I did not make as much frosting as I should have, so I went a bit easy on piping some of the cupcakes.
I hope you have something extra special planned with your sweetheart! Happy Valentine’s Day friends 🙂
I allow myself these indulgences every so often, after all this is a special occasion isn’t it? 🙂

Sharing these treats at Fiesta Friday, I can’t wait to see what everybody brings this week.

John’s picking up a couple filets today and we are going to have a nice steak dinner tomorrow. We do that a lot on Sundays so it’s perfect for our Valentines. There will probably be a bottle of wine involved too. 🙂 How about you?

We don’t celebrate V-Day either, but I had to make it extra special for the blog :). Enjoy your weekend, I have a fondness for sweets too and might just make something sweet for dessert tomorrow. Those cupcakes were leftovers from a dinner I hosted, but I gave them all away as I didn’t want or need the temptation 🙂

What an adorable way to showcase your lovely chocolate cupcakes. If I do any fancy decorating I always double the icing recipe. Looks delicious and I am sure you shared them with your hubby 🙂

Yes, I too double up on the frosting usually, but I had read that particular recipe made a bit too much, and I didn’t trust myself with so much leftover frosting waiting to be dug in :).
