About Me

Where is home you might ask?  After four continents and 5 countries, I feel a bit of a nomad and will probably always be one.  Being exposed to various cultures and traditions, I feel enriched and more open to new experiences as a result.   I’ve always enjoyed writing letters, emails, journals and travelogues.  The light bulb went on, and here I am with my very own blog, writing what I enjoy doing most and reaching out to like-minded folks far and wide.

Join me on a Safari of the Mind.  Walk with me while I tend to my gardens, stand beside me while I create in the kitchen and follow my travels from your armchair.

  1. Hi Loretta, I’m sorry you are having trouble following the How Does Your Garden Grow link on my blog – it’s the pink flower in my right hand side bar – under sisterhood of bloggers & above Fiesta Friday. I clicked on it last night, and again today and it seems to work ok if you click right over the pink flower. I hope it works now for you – otherwise google mammasaurus… today’s a good day to look, as it’s the first of a new week of posts!
Good luck, and nice to meet you – Emma.

    1. Aww thanks for getting right back to me Emma. Unfortunately, there is no pink flower, it’s just a blank box on my screen, with the caption underneath. The link does not work either. Maybe my computer is acting up or something? Will have to check it out when I get back from work. Thanks though. Would love to join your garden community.

      1. I’m sorry but I think it may be your computer.
Have a good day and hopefully the bugs in the system will have disappeared by the time you get home!
        Best wishes, Emma.

      2. Just following up on the above Emma… I’m at work and have tried that link on a few computers here and it did not work. I also googled it like you suggested, but no luck! No worries anyway, I was thinking perhaps that site was just for the folks in England :)). Anyway, thanks for your time.

    1. Yes for sure, I did start this blog by writing about our adventures in Brasil this year….I’ve written a few other trip reports, but have concentrated a bit more on cooking lately. I’ll definitely have to put up some more travel blogs. Thanks for stopping by too. 🙂

    1. Ha ha, I thought that was you :). Yes, I’m Teresa’s friend, and yes we did meet in Miami. Teresa follows my blog too :). I just wrote to her last week, but didn’t realize she was still in Miami. Do tell her to give me a call if you get to talk to her? Also, do convey my best to Thelma, it was great re-uniting with her too. Regarding the Goan vinegar, I understand that the Chinese rice vinegar may be comparable – I hope this helps.

  3. Yes I know there are Chinese vinegars….but you should see their very large selections. Life would have been easy ,if I knew how to read Chinese. Our Goan vinegar is made from Tody.I think we can wait for blogs for Goan vinegar

  4. Sorry for the incomplete comment. Still getting used to writing on a pad. Started to say thanks for the follow Forrest of all and next: wow do we need to learn how to cook like you. But since we’re moving to a place with great cheap food we probably won’t. I love your comments about why you blog and what it’s taught you. I just started six months ago and also love writing and sharing stories. Also fascinated with having readers in almost 90 countries in six months
    Cheers

    1. Well good for you, and you got a royal mention on the Word Press news, that’s how I started to follow you :). Would love to hear about your adventures in Malaysia. I’ve lived in Canada too and have been in the USA for the past 35 years. Yes, I imagine the food in Malaysia would be terrific. Do post some recipes from there though, would love to see them. I’ve also got a travel section on my blog that I need to update soon.

    1. That’s great for you too! But when asked where home might be, I never quite know what to say. I was born in India, grew up in Kenya, then moved to England, then Canada, then USA. 🙂 Whereabouts in Canada are you from?

      1. I am from Montreal. I tell people that my home is where I am, I just think every place forms a part of you but physically, home is where you are. You obviously know exactly what I am talking about! So nice that someone understands instead remarking how unusual it is!
